Cobra sponsors Australia India Business Council’s Diwali celebration 2009

Adding colour to Diwali, the Indian festival of lights, The Cobra Group took the initiative of being the Gold Sponsor at the inaugural Australia India Business Council (AIBC) Diwali celebration. The celebrations, hosted by Vice President of The Cobra Group, was attended by prominent people including the Indian High Commissioner in Australia Sujatha Singh, Australian criketer and wicket-keeper Brad Haddin, Federal Ministers and prominent Australian and Indian business representatives.

It was in fact an attempt at strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries. The Cobra Group also held a charity auction to raise funds for the ACT Eden Monaro Cancer Support Group. As part of the celebrations, there was a spectacular display of fireworks and a very vibrant performance by dancers from Bollywood. The Cobra Group took this initiative since it has always been an active supporter of the Australia India Business Council and has also favoured strengthening of ties between different countries across the globe.

Cobra has succeeded in Thursday Island

The tropical island situated about 40kms of the Australian mainland called ‘Thursday Island’ is a spot where The Cobra Group dared to make an entry for its clients in the Pay TV sector. Even with a small population of just 3,500 people, Thursday Island appealed to The Cobra Group. This optimistic team located themselves there and was able to create considerable interest and sign up a high number of valuable customers.
The team who visited the island had a clear-cut picture on the interests of the people and eventually became successful in fulfilling their needs. This turned the residents in favour for the company and its clients.

The ‘Sierra Leone Red Cross Society’ has been supporting its community based health programmes since 2000. The charity division of Cobra Group was welcomed by Sierra Leone’s Red Cross Society in 2008. Together, Cobra Supports and the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society have been providing community-based health care to vulnerable communities in the country.
The fundraising team of Cobra worked with 11,000 representatives of Sierra Leone in all fourteen districts across the country and has helped to improve the health care system through such programmes.
